Golfer of the Week, while
Carson Pruitt (Covenant) earned this week’s Men’s Golf
Rookie of the Week, released by the league office on Wednesday.
GOLFER OF THE WEEK – Doug Gugel, Piedmont
Junior | Winter Springs, Fla.
Piedmont junior Doug Gugel delivered another strong performance at the West Pines Collegiate, finishing fifth in a competitive 108-player field. Gugel carded rounds of 72, 70, and 71 for an even-par total of 213 at West Pines Golf Club. He led the Lions to a third place finish out of a 21-team field.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK – Carson Pruitt, Covenant
Freshman
Covenant freshman Carson Pruitt continued his impressive debut season with a career-best opening round at the West Pines Collegiate, shooting a 69 (-2) to begin the 54-hole event. Pruitt finished tied for 41st in the 108-player field with a total score of +9 (69–75–78) on the course. His performance helped the Scots to a 13th-place team finish in a deep 21-team field.

ABOUT THE COLLEGIATE CONFERENCE OF THE SOUTH (CCS)
The CCS is an NCAA Division III athletic conference that began play during the 2022-23 academic year. The conference features nine member institutions (Agnes Scott College, Asbury University, Belhaven University, Covenant College, Huntingdon College, LaGrange College, Maryville College, Piedmont University, and Wesleyan College) and sponsors championships across 14 sports. In addition to sharing the member institutions' geographic identity, the name 'Collegiate Conference of the South' is indicative of a shared commitment to academic excellence, which is commensurate with the NCAA Division III philosophy.
