ATLANTA, Ga. (December 15, 2025) – The Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) has announced its Men’s Basketball Players of the Week.
Marcus Townsend (Huntingdon) was named
Player of the Week, while
Korbin Long (Covenant) earned
Rookie of the Week, released by the league office on Monday.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Marcus Townsend, Huntingdon
Guard | Senior | Montgomery Ala.
Huntingdon senior guard Marcus Townsend put together a strong two-game stretch at the Welch Classic, helping the Hawks to a 1–1 showing on the week. Townsend opened the event with 15 points and seven rebounds against Welch, then followed with the first double-double of his career in a 91–63 win over Boyce, finishing with 12 points and a game-high 14 rebounds.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK– Korbin Long, Covenant
Guard | Freshman | Birmingham, Ala.
Covenant freshman guard Korbin Long played a key role in the Scots’ 98–88 victory over Sewanee, helping complete a season sweep of the Tigers. Long finished the game with 13 points, five rebounds, and two assists while shooting an efficient 50 percent from the field (3-of-6) and 88 percent from the free-throw line (7-of-8).

ABOUT THE COLLEGIATE CONFERENCE OF THE SOUTH (CCS)
The CCS is an NCAA Division III athletic conference that began play during the 2022-23 academic year. The conference features nine member institutions (Agnes Scott College, Asbury University, Belhaven University, Covenant College, Huntingdon College, LaGrange College, Maryville College, Piedmont University, and Wesleyan College) and sponsors championships across 14 sports. In addition to sharing the member institutions' geographic identity, the name 'Collegiate Conference of the South' is indicative of a shared commitment to academic excellence, which is commensurate with the NCAA Division III philosophy.
