ATLANTA, Ga. (February 18, 2025) - Ben Moore (Asbury) was Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) Men’s Tennis Player of the Week, while Tyler Garcia (Huntingdon) earned this week’s Men’s Tennis Rookie of the Week, released by the league office on Tuesday.
 
The duo, Lane Young and Tyler Garcia (Huntingdon) was named Men’s Doubles Team of the Week.
 

PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Ben Moore, Asbury
Sophomore  |  Winter Park, Fla.
 
Asbury’s Ben Moore delivered a strong performance on the road at Centre, earning victories in both singles and doubles play. Moore teamed up with Andres Caceres for a 7-5 win at No. 2 doubles before rallying in his No. 2 singles match to secure a hard-fought three-set victory, helping the Eagles to a successful weekend.
 
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK – Tyler Garcia, Huntingdon

Freshman Tyler Garcia made an immediate impact for Huntingdon, leading the Hawks to a 1-1 record during opening week. Against Brevard, he partnered with Lane Young at No. 1 doubles for a 6-3 victory before claiming a dominant 6-3, 6-4 win at No. 2 singles. Garcia also picked up a default doubles win against MUW. 
 
DOUBLES TEAM OF THE WEEK – Lane Young/Tyler Garcia, Huntingdon

Huntingdon's duo of Lane Young and Tyler Garcia helped lead the Hawks to a season-opening victory, securing a 6-3 win at No. 1 doubles against Brevard.

The CCS is an NCAA Division III athletic conference that began play during the 2022-23 academic year. The conference features nine member institutions (Agnes Scott College, Asbury University, Belhaven University, Covenant College, Huntingdon College, LaGrange College, Maryville College, Piedmont University, and Wesleyan College) and sponsors championships across 14 sports. In addition to sharing the member institutions' geographic identity, the name 'Collegiate Conference of the South' is indicative of a shared commitment to academic excellence, which is commensurate with the NCAA Division III philosophy.
