Rookie of the Week.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Ignacio Ardiles, Asbury
Senior | Buenos Aires, Argentina
Ignacio Ardiles delivered a perfect week in singles competition, going 3–0 at the No. 3 position to help lead Asbury to a pair of conference victories. The senior opened the week with a hard-fought three-set win over Centre, rallying for a 6–4, 4–6, 10–4 victory. Ardiles followed with straight-set wins against LaGrange (6–2, 6–2) and Huntingdon (6–1, 6–2) as the Eagles secured their first two CCS wins of the season. He also contributed in doubles play, teaming with Franco Patino for a 6–1 victory at the No. 1 spot against LaGrange.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK – Steven Fitzsimmons, Maryville

Steven Fitzsimmons played a key role in Maryville’s 7–0 victory over Huntingdon, earning wins in both singles and doubles competition. Competing at the No. 5 singles position, the freshman secured a 6–3, 4–6, 10–7 victory over Huntingdon’s Peer. Fitzsimmons also teamed with James Smith at the No. 1 doubles spot, where the pair earned a 6–2 win over Huntingdon’s Garcia and Philley to help set the tone for the Scots.
DOUBLES TEAM OF THE WEEK – Horacio Rodriguez/Caleb McElveen, Piedmont
Sophomores | Cumming, Ga./Springfield, Ga.
The Piedmont tandem of Horacio Rodriguez and Caleb McElveen posted a perfect 2–0 record at the No. 2 doubles position during the week. The duo opened with a 6–1 victory over Cornell College’s Lambley and Saunders before following with a 6–2 win against Transylvania’s Condrey and Wagers.

ABOUT THE COLLEGIATE CONFERENCE OF THE SOUTH (CCS)
The CCS is an NCAA Division III athletic conference that began play during the 2022-23 academic year. The conference features nine member institutions (Agnes Scott College, Asbury University, Belhaven University, Covenant College, Huntingdon College, LaGrange College, Maryville College, Piedmont University, and Wesleyan College) and sponsors championships across 14 sports. In addition to sharing the member institutions' geographic identity, the name 'Collegiate Conference of the South' is indicative of a shared commitment to academic excellence, which is commensurate with the NCAA Division III philosophy.
