Week 3: CCS Women’s Tennis Players of the Week
ATLANTA, Ga. (March 4, 2025) - Jordan Ballard (Piedmont) was Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) Women’s Tennis Player of the Week, while Calliana Kondolios (Maryville) earned this week’s Women’s Tennis Rookie of the Week, released by the league office on Tuesday.
 
The duo, Abby Diggs and Alyssa Smith (Maryville) was named Women’s Doubles Team of the Week.
 

PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Jordan Ballard, Piedmont
Junior  |  Canton, Ga.
 
Jordan Ballard played a pivotal role in Piedmont’s 7-0 sweep over Belhaven, delivering victories in both singles and doubles play. Competing at No. 3 singles, she dominated with a flawless 6-0, 6-0 win to clinch the match for the Lions. In doubles action, Ballard partnered with Hollan Rabensdorf at the No. 1 position to secure a commanding 6-1 victory to lead the Lions to a team victory against Belhaven.
 
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK – Calliana Kondolios, Maryville
Freshman  |  Nolensville, Tenn.
 
Calliana Kondolios remained undefeated in singles play this season, posting a perfect 3-0 record at the No. 4 position. She recorded straight-set victories against Bridgewater (6-3, 6-4), Roanoke (6-2, 6-3), and Southern Virginia (6-0, 6-1), helping Maryville complete an undefeated 3-0 road trip.
 
DOUBLES TEAM OF THE WEEK – Abby Diggs/Alyssa Smith, Maryville
Senior/Junior | Knoxville, Tenn./ Franklin, N.C.
 
The duo of Abby Diggs and Alyssa Smith went 2-1 on the week, securing key victories at the No. 2 doubles spot against Bridgewater (6-4) and Roanoke (6-4). Their win against Roanoke proved crucial in Maryville’s narrow 4-3 team victory. Despite Diggs battling an ankle injury, the pair continued to compete at a high level, currently 3-1 on the season.

The CCS is an NCAA Division III athletic conference that began play during the 2022-23 academic year. The conference features nine member institutions (Agnes Scott College, Asbury University, Belhaven University, Covenant College, Huntingdon College, LaGrange College, Maryville College, Piedmont University, and Wesleyan College) and sponsors championships across 14 sports. In addition to sharing the member institutions' geographic identity, the name 'Collegiate Conference of the South' is indicative of a shared commitment to academic excellence, which is commensurate with the NCAA Division III philosophy.
