WILMORE, Ky.--- The Asbury men's soccer team (3-1, 0-0 CCS) picked up its third consecutive win on Monday night with a 4-1 victory over Ohio Christian University (1-2-1) in Wilmore, Ky., led by a hat-trick from freshman exercise science major Tyson Absher.
AU freshman marketing major Eli Redpath continued his scoring streak, collecting his fourth goal in the first four matches of the year. Redpath opened the scoring in the fourth minute, burying a penalty kick. Just minutes later, Redpath assisted Absher on consecutive goals in the 17th and 19th minutes to give the Eagles a 3-0 advantage.
After the half, Absher completed his hat trick in the 58th minute, finishing a pass from freshman business administration major Nathan Haglund to stretch the lead to 4-0. Ohio Christian pulled one back in the 72nd minute, scored by Caleb Rose, assisted by Kamden Smith.
The Eagles controlled the match from start to finish, outshooting Ohio Christian 17-6 and holding a 12-1 edge in shots on goal. Junior goalkeeper Peyton French played all 90 minutes and limited Ohio Christian to a single goal.
There were three yellow cards given in the match: OCU, Eliel Kisoka in the 43rd minute, William Boorman in the 85th minute, and Asbury, Ethan Kriesch in the 77th minute.
