FRANKLIN, Ohio --- Asbury men's soccer (4-1, 0-0 CCS) scored four goals on Wednesday night in Franklin, Ohio, securing their second clean sheet in the last three matches to beat Franklin College (0-5-0, 0-0 HCAC), 4-0.
The Eagles' four goals all came from freshmen exercise major Tyson Absher (6) and freshman business administration major Nathan Haglund (3), each scoring two in the match. Asbury has now won four straight contests, scoring 15 goals during the winning streak.
Absher struck first in the eighth minute for a goal, keeping the momentum from his hat-trick on Monday night in Wilmore. Haglund scored the second goal in the 26th minute on a penalty kick opportunity.
Extending his Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) first-place mark to six goals on the year, Absher scored again in the 69th minute, this time from an Aiden Fish assist (1). Haglund came through again in the 73rd minute on his second penalty kick goal of the evening, 4-0.
Franklin put up nine shots, but only two on goal against the AU defense and senior captain goalie Crosby Short. A day after being named the CCS Defensive Player of the Week, Short had two saves in 90 minutes to collect another clean sheet.
AU freshman sport management major Josue Twizere was also key defensively in the match, playing all 90 minutes for the Eagles. Asbury had eight shots on goal, four being saved by the Franklin keeper, Jaime Silva. The Eagles' eight shots on goal, four from Absher and four from Haglund, were efficient out of their 11 total shots.
The match had 21 total fouls, 11 of them coming from Franklin. The Grizzlies collected five total cards, four yellow and a red card in the 36th minute. AU had one card in the 89th, given to sophomore sport management major Bishop Burke.

"As a team of mostly freshmen, we are working on our teamwork and chemistry to play as a unit. We were able to secure another win and fine-tune some of our teamwork strategies."
