Week 5: CCS Men’s Soccer Players of the Week

ATLANTA, Ga. (October 6, 2026) – Davis Knight (Piedmont) was named Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, while Jean Franco Loria (Piedmont) earned Defensive Player of the Week, released by the league office on Tuesday.
 
Daris Mustic (Piedmont) was also tabbed Rookie of the Week.
 
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Davis Knight, Piedmont

Knight made an immediate impact in his return to the field for Piedmont, scoring two goals against Warren Wilson in his first appearance of the 2026 season. He followed by opening the scoring within the first 10 minutes of the Lions’ win over Huntingdon, helping Piedmont secure its first conference victory of the season.
 
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Jean Franco Loria, Piedmont
Goalkeeper  |  Freshman  |  Loganville, Ga.
 
Loria provided a steady presence in goal for Piedmont, allowing just one goal across 135 minutes of action. He totaled five saves over three halves of play and helped the Lions earn their first conference victory of the season.
 
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK – Daris Mustic, Piedmont
Forward  |  Freshman  |  Suwanee, Ga.                          
 
Mustic continued his productive freshman campaign with three goals across Piedmont’s two victories over Warren Wilson and Huntingdon. He totaled six points on five shots, placing four on goal, and added a goal in Saturday’s win over Huntingdon to help the Lions secure their first conference victory of the season.

ABOUT THE COLLEGIATE CONFERENCE OF THE SOUTH
The CCS is an NCAA Division III athletic conference that began play during the 2022-23 academic year. The conference features seven member institutions (Agnes Scott College, Asbury University, Belhaven University, Covenant College, Huntingdon College, LaGrange College, and Piedmont University) and sponsors championships across 16 sports. In addition to sharing the member institutions' geographic identity, the name 'Collegiate Conference of the South' is indicative of a shared commitment to academic excellence, which is commensurate with the NCAA Division III philosophy.
