Week 5: CCS Women’s Soccer Players of the Week

ATLANTA, Ga. (October 6, 2026) – Shaylinn McFarland (Huntingdon) was named Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, while Libby Williams (Huntingdon)earned Defensive Player of the Week, released by the league office on Tuesday.
 
Molly Spalding (Asbury) was also tabbed Rookie of the Week.
 
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Shaylinn McFarland, Huntingdon
Forward  |  Junior  |  Madison, Ala.
 
McFarland provided the difference in Huntingdon’s 1-0 road victory over Piedmont, scoring the game-winning goal to secure the conference win. She finished the match with two shots, placing one on goal, while playing all 90 minutes.
 
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Libby Williams, Huntingdon

Williams delivered a clean-sheet performance in Huntingdon’s 1-0 road win over Piedmont, making seven saves across the full 90 minutes. Her work in goal kept the Panthers off the board and helped preserve the one-goal victory.
 
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK – Molly Spalding, Asbury

Spalding recorded the first two goals of her collegiate career during Asbury’s pair of CCS matches against LaGrange and Covenant. She totaled four points on four shots, placing three on goal, while logging 149 minutes as the Eagles finished the week 1-1.

ABOUT THE COLLEGIATE CONFERENCE OF THE SOUTH
The CCS is an NCAA Division III athletic conference that began play during the 2022-23 academic year. The conference features seven member institutions (Agnes Scott College, Asbury University, Belhaven University, Covenant College, Huntingdon College, LaGrange College, and Piedmont University) and sponsors championships across 16 sports. In addition to sharing the member institutions' geographic identity, the name 'Collegiate Conference of the South' is indicative of a shared commitment to academic excellence, which is commensurate with the NCAA Division III philosophy.
