ATLANTA, Ga. (February 23, 2026) – The Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) has announced its baseball weekly honors, released by the league office on Monday.
Roby McClarnon (Covenant) was named
Player of the Week, while
Gunner Staten (Belhaven) earned
Pitcher of the Week honors.
Colin McGhee (LaGrange) was also tabbed
Rookie of the Week.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Roby McClarnon, Covenant
Infield | Sophomore | Altamonte Springs, Fla.
Roby McClarnon delivered a standout series performance to lead Covenant against Wheaton, batting .533 (8-for-15) over the weekend. The sophomore infielder recorded one home run, three triples, and drove in eight runs, while scoring five times and swiping five bases. McClarnon also made his presence felt defensively at shortstop, highlighted by a game-saving throw from left field to cut down a runner at third base.
PITCHER OF THE WEEK – Gunner Staten, Belhaven
Pitcher | Sophomore | Kentwood, La.
Gunner Staten turned in a dominant outing on the mound to secure a key conference win for Belhaven. The sophomore earned the victory in Game Two of the Blazers’ series sweep over No. 25 ETBU, tossing five scoreless innings. Staten allowed just three hits while striking out five, keeping the nationally ranked Tigers off the board and helping Belhaven complete the sweep.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK – Colin McGhee, LaGrange
Second Base | Freshman | Ball Ground, Ga.
Freshman infielder Colin McGhee continued his strong start to the season, batting .429 (6-for-14) to help LaGrange post a 2–1 record on the week. McGhee drove in five runs, scored twice, and reached base consistently throughout the stretch. His contributions were pivotal in the Panthers’ 7–4 victory over No. 2 Endicott College.
