Week 3: CCS Women’s Tennis Players of the Week

ATLANTA, Ga. (February 24, 2026) Caroline Morrison (Piedmont) was named Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) Women’s Tennis Player of the Week, while Landry McKinney (Covenant) earned this week’s Women’s Tennis Rookie of the Week, released by the league office on Tuesday.
 
The duo Ella Kate Canaday and Hattie Sloyan (Piedmont) were named Women’s Doubles Team of the Week.
 
PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Caroline Morrison, Piedmont
Sophomore  |  Lexington, Ky.
 
Caroline Morrison delivered a strong performance at the top of Piedmont’s lineup, helping the Lions secure two 7–0 team victories over Oglethorpe and LaGrange. Competing at the No. 1 singles position, Morrison earned a decisive 6–2, 6–1 win over LaGrange’s Wiley.
She also contributed in doubles action, teaming with Sarah Row at the No. 1 spot to post a commanding 6–1 victory against LaGrange’s Wiley duo.
 
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK – Landry McKinney, Covenant

Freshman Landry McKinney turned in a clean sweep in both singles and doubles play during the week. McKinney earned a 6–1, 6–1 victory in singles competition over MUW’s Mathis. She also partnered with Kruesi Graham in doubles action, where the pair secured a 6–0 win over MUW’s Lowry and Horton.
 
DOUBLES TEAM OF THE WEEK – Ella Kate Canaday / Hattie Sloyan, Piedmont
Freshman/Sophomore   | Gainesville, Ga./Greensboro, N.C.
 
The Piedmont duo of Ella Kate Canaday and Hattie Sloyan delivered a decisive performance at the No. 1 doubles position, earning a 6–1 victory over Oglethorpe’s Gorgoll and Glover. Their win helped set the tone in the Lions’ 7–0 team victory.

ABOUT THE COLLEGIATE CONFERENCE OF THE SOUTH (CCS)
The CCS is an NCAA Division III athletic conference that began play during the 2022-23 academic year. The conference features nine member institutions (Agnes Scott College, Asbury University, Belhaven University, Covenant College, Huntingdon College, LaGrange College, Maryville College, Piedmont University, and Wesleyan College) and sponsors championships across 14 sports. In addition to sharing the member institutions' geographic identity, the name 'Collegiate Conference of the South' is indicative of a shared commitment to academic excellence, which is commensurate with the NCAA Division III philosophy.
