Week 3: CCS Men’s Track and Field Athletes of the Week
ATLANTA, Ga. (March 24, 2026) – The Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) has announced its men’s track and field weekly honors, released by the league office on Tuesday.
 
Rory Gilroy (Huntingdon) was named this week’s Men’s Track Athlete of the Week, alongside Kenneth Mills (Belhaven) who collected this week’s Men’s Field Athlete of the Week honor.
 
Ryheem Mighten (LaGrange) was also tabbed Men’s Track Rookie of the Week and Christian Mortimer (Covenant) earned Men’s Field Rookie of the Week.
 
TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – Rory Gilroy, Huntingdon

Rory Gilroy delivered a strong all-around performance at the Emory Spring Break Classic, competing across four events. Gilroy advanced through a competitive 110m hurdles field, posting a 14.66 and finishing second overall in the finals. He also added a ninth-place finish in the 400m hurdles (55.16) and contributed to Huntingdon’s relay efforts, placing eighth in the 4x100m (43.58) and ninth in the 4x400m (3:28.39).
 
FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – Kenneth Mills, Belhaven
Freshman  |  Memphis, Tenn.
 
Kenneth Mills reached new heights in the high jump at the Belhaven Invitational, capturing first place in a field of nine competitors with a mark of 2.05 meters. The freshman’s performance matched the Belhaven program record and currently stands tied for the second-highest jump in NCAA Division III this season.
 
TRACK ROOKIE OF THE WEEK – Ryheem Mighten, LaGrange
Freshman  |  Pleasant Shade, Tenn
 
Ryheem Mighten turned in a pair of competitive sprint performances at the Emory Spring Break Classic. He posted a time of 10.67 in the 100-meter dash to finish 10th out of 24 competitors and added a 21.66 in the 200-meter dash, placing 11th among 116 runners.
 
FIELD ROOKIE OF THE WEEK – Christian Mortimer, Covenant
Freshman 
 
Christian Mortimer recorded a podium finish in the javelin at the Lee University Invitational, placing third out of 26 competitors. The freshman posted a throw of 48.62 meters (159' 6").

ABOUT THE COLLEGIATE CONFERENCE OF THE SOUTH (CCS)
The CCS is an NCAA Division III athletic conference that began play during the 2022-23 academic year. The conference features nine member institutions (Agnes Scott College, Asbury University, Belhaven University, Covenant College, Huntingdon College, LaGrange College, Maryville College, Piedmont University, and Wesleyan College) and sponsors championships across 14 sports. In addition to sharing the member institutions' geographic identity, the name 'Collegiate Conference of the South' is indicative of a shared commitment to academic excellence, which is commensurate with the NCAA Division III philosophy.
