CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. -- Covenant track and field recorded seven personal bests on Friday at Mountainside Stride in Chattanooga, hosted at Chattanooga Christian School.
For the women, Elie Berndt recorded the first PR with her 14.30 mark in the 100m, while Sophia Velleco followed in the 200m with her 27.78, earning a first-place finish in that event.
Greta McLean (2:47.16) and Rachel Bowles (2:48.21) landed personal bests in the 800m, while Kenzi Stapleton rounded out the women's personal bests in the 5000m with her 19:31.13.
In other notable results, Velleco had a second podium finish in the 400m (1:03.22), while Lucie Demers had two first-place times, one in the 800m (2:29.75) and one in the 1500m (4:56.03). Josephine Swinburnson added her own first-place mark of 4.64m (15' 2.75") in the long jump as well.
The relay teams also had first-place times, with the 4x100m team of Swinburnson, Berndt, Jaiden Henderson, and Velleco running a 54.92 and the 4x400m group of Velleco, Evangelia Berry, Swinburnson, and Demers timing out at 4:22.81.
On the men's side, Aidan DeVries (4:19.68) and Jack Dupree (4:21.43) recorded personal bests in the 1500m, and Max Davis had a season-best outdoor mark of 12.20m in the shot put, landing him first place in that event.
In other notable men's results, Cam Bain placed first in the 200m with his 24.09, while Chandler Lines had two first-place finishes, one in the 800m (2:02.42) and one in the 1500m (2:16.88). Connor Moffat (2nd-400m), Ethan Saiki (2nd-1500m), Alex Burns (3rd-1500m), and Jack Miller (3rd-5000m) also had podium finishes.
