Week 2: CCS Women’s Cross Country Runners of the Week

ATLANTA, Ga. (September 14, 2026) – Claire Mellott (Covenant) was named Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week, while Hanna Forrest (Covenant) earned Rookie of the Week, released by the league office on Monday.
 
RUNNER OF THE WEEK – Claire Mellott, Covenant
Senior  |  University Place, Wash.
 
Mellott led Covenant at the Saturday Night Lights meet, finishing as the Scots’ top runner with a time of 27:27.8. She placed 22nd overall in a field of 73 competitors.
 
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK – Hanna Forrest, Covenant
Freshman  |  Travelers Rest, S.C.
 
Forrest followed closely behind as Covenant’s second finisher at the Saturday Night Lights meet, crossing the line in 27:29.3 in the 6K. She placed 23rd overall among 73 runners.

ABOUT THE COLLEGIATE CONFERENCE OF THE SOUTH
The CCS is an NCAA Division III athletic conference that began play during the 2022-23 academic year. The conference features seven member institutions (Agnes Scott College, Asbury University, Belhaven University, Covenant College, Huntingdon College, LaGrange College, and Piedmont University) and sponsors championships across 16 sports. In addition to sharing the member institutions' geographic identity, the name 'Collegiate Conference of the South' is indicative of a shared commitment to academic excellence, which is commensurate with the NCAA Division III philosophy.
