ATLANTA, Ga. (September 26, 2023) –
Colin Vogel (Piedmont) was named Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) Men’s Soccer
Offensive Player of the Week, while
Braden Ross (Huntingdon) earned
Defensive Player of the Week, released by the league office on Tuesday.
Davis Knight (Piedmont) was also tabbed
Rookie of the Week.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Colin Vogel, Piedmont
Forward | Sophomore | Suwanee, Ga.
Vogel scored a goal and an assist against Southern Virginia in 2-2 a draw. The sophomore forward’s assist helped Piedmont tie the game in the last few minutes.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Braden Ross, Huntingdon
Goalkeeper | Junior | Murfreesboro, Tenn.
Ross found himself with 17 total saves last week in contests against Covenant and Berry. The Tennessee native has a .672 save percentage on the year and faced 36 total shots last week.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK – Davis Knight, Piedmont
Forward/Midfielder | Freshman | LaGrange, Ga.
Knight scored two goals and added an assist in two games last week. Both goals served as game tying goals in the second half of each contest.

ABOUT THE COLLEGIATE CONFERENCE OF THE SOUTH
The CCS is an NCAA Division III athletic conference that began play during the 2022-23 academic year. The conference features nine member institutions (Agnes Scott College, Berea College, Belhaven University, Covenant College, Huntingdon College, LaGrange College, Piedmont University, and Wesleyan College) and sponsors championships across 14 sports. In addition to sharing the member institutions' geographic identity, the name 'Collegiate Conference of the South' is indicative of a shared commitment to academic excellence, which is commensurate with the NCAA Division III philosophy.
