Week 4: CCS Women’s Soccer Players of the Week

ATLANTA, Ga. (September 25, 2023) – Jenny Satcher (Belhaven) was named Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, while Julianne Wilson (Belhaven) earned Defensive Player of the Week, released by the league office on Tuesday.
 
Madison McDonald (Maryville) was also tabbed Rookie of the Week.
 
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Jenny Satcher, Belhaven

Satcher scored a goal in all three matches as a substitute last week in wins over Tougaloo, Huntingdon, and Piedmont.
 
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Julianne Wilson, Belhaven
Goalkeeper  |  Junior  |  Mobile, AL
 
In three games last week, Wilson collected two clean sheets with eight total saves.
 
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK – Madison McDonald, Maryville
Midfielder  |  Freshman  |  Anchorage, Alaska
 
Madison McDonald scored her first career brace to lead Maryville to a 7-0 victory against LaGrange on Sunday. The first-year midfielder converted twice from long range in a 2½-minute span to make it 3-0 in the first half. McDonald fired six shots for the week, including four on target. The Alaska native has scored three goals so far this season.

ABOUT THE COLLEGIATE CONFERENCE OF THE SOUTH
The CCS is an NCAA Division III athletic conference that began play during the 2022-23 academic year. The conference features nine member institutions (Agnes Scott College, Berea College, Belhaven University, Covenant College, Huntingdon College, LaGrange College, Piedmont University, and Wesleyan College) and sponsors championships across 14 sports. In addition to sharing the member institutions' geographic identity, the name 'Collegiate Conference of the South' is indicative of a shared commitment to academic excellence, which is commensurate with the NCAA Division III philosophy.
