Week 6: CCS Men’s Basketball Players of the Week
ATLANTA, Ga. (December 16, 2024) – The Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) has announced its Men’s Basketball Players of the Week.
 
Devin Dowell (LaGrange) was named Player of the Week, while Luuk Dusek (Covenant) earned Rookie of the Week, released by the league office on Monday.
 
PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Devin Dowell, LaGrange
Guard  |  Sophomore  |  LaGrange, Ga.
 
Sophomore guard Devin Dowell led LaGrange to a 2-1 week, showcasing his scoring ability and all-around contributions. Over three games, Dowell totaled 47 points, five rebounds, six assists, six steals, and two blocks, averaging 15.67 points per game. In the Panthers’ lone loss, he posted a career-high 22 points.
 
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK– Luuk Dusek, Covenant
Guard  |  Freshman  |  Wheaton, Ill.
 
Freshman guard Luuk Dusek impressed with his scoring prowess, averaging 18 points over two games for Covenant. Dusek tallied a career-high 23 points on 8-of-16 shooting, including seven made three-pointers, in a road win at Johnson & Wales. For the week, he drained nine three-pointers and contributed five steals.

The CCS is an NCAA Division III athletic conference that began play during the 2022-23 academic year. The conference features nine member institutions (Agnes Scott College, Asbury University, Belhaven University, Covenant College, Huntingdon College, LaGrange College, Maryville College, Piedmont University, and Wesleyan College) and sponsors championships across 14 sports. In addition to sharing the member institutions' geographic identity, the name 'Collegiate Conference of the South' is indicative of a shared commitment to academic excellence, which is commensurate with the NCAA Division III philosophy.
