Week 7: CCS Women’s Basketball Players of the Week
ATLANTA, Ga. (December 31, 2024) – The Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) has announced its Women’s Basketball Players of the Week.

Brianna McGruder (Huntingdon) was named Player of the Week, while Emily Sizemore (Asbury) earned Rookie of the Week, released by the league office on Tuesday.
 
PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Brianna McGruder, Huntingdon

Senior forward Brianna McGruder had a strong week for Huntingdon, averaging 13.3 points and 9.0 rebounds per game over three contests. McGruder posted back-to-back double-doubles against MUW and Centre, finishing with 40 total points and 27 rebounds. She also contributed eight assists, five steals, and six blocks while shooting over 40% from both the field and the free-throw line, anchoring the Hawks on both ends of the court.
 
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK– Emily Sizemore, Asbury

Sophomore guard and first-year transfer Emily Sizemore delivered solid all-around performances for Asbury in three games this week. Sizemore tallied 17 points, 14 rebounds, eight assists, and five steals across the contests. Her highlights included scoring 13 points on 5-of-9 shooting against Shenandoah, grabbing six rebounds in games against both Wilmington and Spalding, and dishing a season-high five assists against Spalding.

ABOUT THE COLLEGIATE CONFERENCE OF THE SOUTH (CCS)
The CCS is an NCAA Division III athletic conference that began play during the 2022-23 academic year. The conference features nine member institutions (Agnes Scott College, Asbury University, Belhaven University, Covenant College, Huntingdon College, LaGrange College, Maryville College, Piedmont University, and Wesleyan College) and sponsors championships across 14 sports. In addition to sharing the member institutions' geographic identity, the name 'Collegiate Conference of the South' is indicative of a shared commitment to academic excellence, which is commensurate with the NCAA Division III philosophy.
