ATLANTA, Ga. (March 26, 2024) – The Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) has announced its men’s track and field weekly honors, released by the league office on Tuesday.
Kelsey Singleton (Belhaven) was named this week’s Men’s
Track Athlete of the Week, alongside
Neal Terry (Belhaven) who collected this week’s Men’s
Field Athlete of the Week honor.
Jacob Faulkner (Maryville) was also tabbed
Track Rookie of the Week and
Alex Reed (Belhaven) earned
Field Rookie of the Week.
TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – Kelsey Singleton, Belhaven
Sophomore | Flora, Miss.
Singleton set a new school record in the 200m run at the Belhaven Invitational with a time of 21.32 seconds. The Mississippi native ranks first in the conference in the 200 meter race. The sophomore sprinter also ran a blistering 10.69 seconds in the 100 meter dash. With that time, Singleton ranks second in the conference in the 100 meter dash.
FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – Neal Terry, Belhaven
Sophomore | Olive Branch, Miss.
Terry secured a fourth place finish in the long jump at the Belhaven Invitational with a program record of 6.75m. The Mississippi native also took home a fourth place finish in the pole vault (3.70m) and a fifth place finish in the triple jump (12.10m). The sophomore jumper’s best finish came with a third place finish in the high jump (1.85). Terry currently ranks first in the conference in the pole vault and is tied for first in the high jump.
TRACK ROOKIE OF THE WEEK – Jacob Faulkner, Maryville
Freshman | Brentwood, Tenn.
Faulkner produced a sixth place finish in the Decathlon at the Lee Invitational with a total of 4,913 points. The Tennessee native captured a third place finish in the decathlon long jump (6.31m) and decathlon pole vault (3.50m).
FIELD ROOKIE OF THE WEEK – Alex Reed, Belhaven
Freshman | Jackson, Miss.
Reed earned a third place finish at the Belhaven Invitational in the triple jump with a leap of 12.82m. The Mississippi native also captured fifth place in the long jump.

ABOUT THE COLLEGIATE CONFERENCE OF THE SOUTH
The CCS is an NCAA Division III athletic conference that began play during the 2022-23 academic year. The conference features nine member institutions (Agnes Scott College, Berea College, Belhaven University, Covenant College, Huntingdon College, LaGrange College, Maryville College, Piedmont University, and Wesleyan College) and sponsors championships across 14 sports. In addition to sharing the member institutions' geographic identity, the name 'Collegiate Conference of the South' is indicative of a shared commitment to academic excellence, which is commensurate with the NCAA Division III philosophy.
