ATLANTA, Ga. (December 22, 2025) – The Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) has announced its Men’s Basketball Players of the Week.
Marcus Townsend (Huntingdon) was named
Player of the Week, while
Parker Renault (Piedmont) earned
Rookie of the Week, released by the league office on Monday.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Marcus Townsend, Huntingdon

Marcus Townsend delivered a historic performance to lead Huntingdon during its 1–1 showing at the LaQuinta Inn & Suites Classic, hosted by LaGrange. The senior guard averaged 20.5 points and 15 rebounds across the two-game stretch, anchoring the Hawks on both ends of the floor. Townsend opened the week with a double-double, recording 12 points and 10 rebounds in a tightly contested 93–91 overtime loss to Methodist. He followed with a dominant showing in a 116–96 victory over the Baptist University of Florida, pouring in 29 points and pulling down 20 rebounds. The 20-rebound effort marked a milestone for the program, as Townsend became the first Hawk to record a 20-rebound game during Huntingdon’s NCAA era.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK– Parker Renault, Piedmont
Forward | Freshman | Charleston, S.C.
Freshman forward Parker Renault played a key role in Piedmont’s 2–1 week, turning in a productive all-around performance in wins over SUNY Brockport and Caltech. Renault totaled 42 points while shooting 14-of-27 from the field, including 3-of-7 from three-point range, and 11-of-16 from the free-throw line. In addition to his scoring, Renault was active on the glass and defensively, finishing the week with 22 rebounds, four assists, three blocks, and one steal.

ABOUT THE COLLEGIATE CONFERENCE OF THE SOUTH (CCS)
The CCS is an NCAA Division III athletic conference that began play during the 2022-23 academic year. The conference features nine member institutions (Agnes Scott College, Asbury University, Belhaven University, Covenant College, Huntingdon College, LaGrange College, Maryville College, Piedmont University, and Wesleyan College) and sponsors championships across 14 sports. In addition to sharing the member institutions' geographic identity, the name 'Collegiate Conference of the South' is indicative of a shared commitment to academic excellence, which is commensurate with the NCAA Division III philosophy.
