Week 4: CCS Men’s Track and Field Athletes of the Week
ATLANTA, Ga. (April 8, 2025) – The Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) has announced its men’s track and field weekly honors, released by the league office on Tuesday.
 
Silas Goolsby (Piedmont) was named this week’s Men’s Track Athlete of the Week, alongside Neal Terry (Belhaven) who collected this week’s Men’s Field Athlete of the Week honor.
 
Manny Dut (Asbury) was also tabbed Men’s Track Rookie of the Week and Al Martin (Piedmont) earned Men’s Field Rookie of the Week.
 

TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – Silas Goolsby, Piedmont
Junior  |  Dacula, Ga.
 
Goolsby turned in one of the top performances in the country at the Electric City Invitational, where Piedmont was the only NCAA Division III program competing among a field dominated by Division I, Division II, and NAIA teams. Goolsby broke the Lions’ program record in the 200-meter dash with a blazing time of 21.10 seconds, good for second place overall. That time currently leads the CCS and is tied for second in NCAA Division III this season. He also led off Piedmont’s 4x100-meter relay team, which finished fifth with a time of 43.96 seconds.
 
FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – Neal Terry, Belhaven
Junior  |  Olive Branch, Miss.
 
Terry delivered dominant results at the Belhaven Twilight Meet, winning the long jump with a leap of 7.15 meters. He also claimed second place in the triple jump with an impressive mark of 14.86 meters.
 
TRACK ROOKIE OF THE WEEK – Manny Dut, Asbury
Freshman  |  Danville, Ky.
 
Dut turned in a standout performance at the Centre Invite, clocking a personal-best time of 49.52 seconds in the 400-meter dash. Dut’s effort earned him a second-place finish in the event and marked the first time in his collegiate career he broke the 50-second barrier.
 
FIELD ROOKIE OF THE WEEK – Al Martin, Piedmont
Freshman  |  Hartwell, Ga.
 
Martin showcased his all-around ability at the Electric City Invitational, competing in three field events and setting a personal best in the long jump. Martin placed 12th in the long jump with a mark of 6.16 meters, ninth in the triple jump at 12.05 meters, and also threw 36.27 meters in the javelin.

ABOUT THE COLLEGIATE CONFERENCE OF THE SOUTH (CCS)
The CCS is an NCAA Division III athletic conference that began play during the 2022-23 academic year. The conference features nine member institutions (Agnes Scott College, Asbury University, Belhaven University, Covenant College, Huntingdon College, LaGrange College, Maryville College, Piedmont University, and Wesleyan College) and sponsors championships across 14 sports. In addition to sharing the member institutions' geographic identity, the name 'Collegiate Conference of the South' is indicative of a shared commitment to academic excellence, which is commensurate with the NCAA Division III philosophy.
