Week 8: CCS Men’s Basketball Players of the Week

ATLANTA, Ga. (January 5, 2025) – The Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) has announced its Men’s Basketball Players of the Week.
 
Tyler Mallory (Huntingdon) was named Player of the Week, while Konlin Brown (Asbury) earned Rookie of the Week, released by the league office on Monday.
 
PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Tyler Mallory, Huntingdon

Tyler Mallory continued to serve as the engine of Huntingdon’s offense, posting a productive four-game stretch as the Hawks went 2–2 on the week. The junior guard totaled 94 points, averaging 23.5 points per game, while adding 15 rebounds, 21 assists, and 15 steals to impact the game on both ends of the floor. Mallory played a key role in Huntingdon’s victories over Covenant and Ozarks, consistently setting the tempo offensively. He also turned in his top scoring performance of the week against No. 25 Maryville, pouring in a game-high 35 points in the matchup.
 
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK– Konlin Brown, Asbury

First-year Asbury guard Konlin Brown made an immediate impact in conference play, delivering a career-best performance in the Eagles’ CCS opener. Brown scored a career-high 18 points, knocking down four three-pointers to lead Asbury to a win over Piedmont. Brown also contributed as a facilitator throughout the week, totaling five assists, including three in Asbury’s contest against Wittenberg.

ABOUT THE COLLEGIATE CONFERENCE OF THE SOUTH (CCS)
The CCS is an NCAA Division III athletic conference that began play during the 2022-23 academic year. The conference features nine member institutions (Agnes Scott College, Asbury University, Belhaven University, Covenant College, Huntingdon College, LaGrange College, Maryville College, Piedmont University, and Wesleyan College) and sponsors championships across 14 sports. In addition to sharing the member institutions' geographic identity, the name 'Collegiate Conference of the South' is indicative of a shared commitment to academic excellence, which is commensurate with the NCAA Division III philosophy.
