Week 7: CCS Baseball Players of the Week
ATLANTA, Ga. (March 23, 2026) – The Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) has announced its baseball weekly honors, released by the league office on Monday.
 
Jorge Fragoso (LaGrange) was named Player of the Week, while Andrew Misirly (Piedmont) earned Pitcher of the Week honors.
 
Edison Burke (Asbury) was also tabbed Rookie of the Week.
 
PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Jorge Fragoso, LaGrange
Outfielder |  Graduate Student  |  East Point, Ga.
 
Jorge Fragoso led LaGrange offensively during a 2–2 week that included two conference wins over Asbury. The graduate student hit .500 (8-for-16) while collecting three doubles, driving in five runs, and scoring three times. Fragoso posted a .688 slugging percentage and contributed defensively with a perfect fielding percentage, recording six putouts in the outfield.
 
PITCHER OF THE WEEK – Andrew Misirly, Piedmont

Andrew Misirly delivered a strong outing on the mound, holding Emory scoreless over six innings in Friday’s contest. The sophomore allowed seven hits and two walks while striking out three, finishing the week with a 0.00 ERA.
 
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK – Edison Burke, Asbury

Edison Burke continued to provide a spark for Asbury’s offense during a three-game series against LaGrange. The freshman outfielder hit .385 (5-for-13), scoring three runs and driving in three while reaching base at a .429 clip. Burke also contributed defensively with seven putouts and a perfect fielding percentage.

ABOUT THE COLLEGIATE CONFERENCE OF THE SOUTH (CCS)
The CCS is an NCAA Division III athletic conference that began play during the 2022-23 academic year. The conference features nine member institutions (Agnes Scott College, Asbury University, Belhaven University, Covenant College, Huntingdon College, LaGrange College, Maryville College, Piedmont University, and Wesleyan College) and sponsors championships across 14 sports. In addition to sharing the member institutions' geographic identity, the name 'Collegiate Conference of the South' is indicative of a shared commitment to academic excellence, which is commensurate with the NCAA Division III philosophy.
