Week 6: CCS Men’s Golf Players of the Week

ATLANTA, Ga. (October 25, 2023) – Eli Rogers (LaGrange) was named the Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) Player of the Week, while Aaron Martin Del Campo (Piedmont) earned this week’s Men’s Golf Rookie of the Week, released by the league office on Wednesday.
 
PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Eli Rogers, LaGrange
Sophomore  |  Athens, Ga.
 
Rogers, a sophomore golfer, led the Panthers with a Top 10 finish overall at the Chick-Fil-A Collegiate Invitational with scores of 71 in Round 1 and 76 in Round 2 for a total of 147 to lead the Panthers to a 7th place finish, tied with conference opponent, Huntingdon.
 
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK – Aaron Martin Del Campo, Piedmont
Freshman  |  Guadalajara, Mexico
 
Aaron Martin Del Campo fired rounds of 72 and 73 to finish +1 at the Chick-fil-A Invitational. The freshman was the top finishing CCS Athlete at the event tied for 8th out of 112 participants. The Lions tied for ninth place in the tournament.

ABOUT THE COLLEGIATE CONFERENCE OF THE SOUTH
The CCS is an NCAA Division III athletic conference that began play during the 2022-23 academic year. The conference features nine member institutions (Agnes Scott College, Berea College, Belhaven University, Covenant College, Huntingdon College, LaGrange College, Maryville College, Piedmont University, and Wesleyan College) and sponsors championships across 14 sports. In addition to sharing the member institutions' geographic identity, the name 'Collegiate Conference of the South' is indicative of a shared commitment to academic excellence, which is commensurate with the NCAA Division III philosophy.
