ATLANTA, Ga. (April 2, 2024) – The Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) has announced its men’s track and field weekly honors, released by the league office on Tuesday.
Kelsey Singleton (Belhaven) was named this week’s Men’s Track Athlete of the Week, alongside Benjamin Adams (Belhaven) who collected this week’s Men’s Field Athlete of the Week honor.
Jonathan Bolanos (Berea) was also tabbed Track Rookie of the Week and Ethan Butler-Paige (Piedmont) earned Field Rookie of the Week.
TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – Kelsey Singleton, Belhaven
Sophomore | Flora, Miss.
Singleton dashed to a new program record in the 400m run at the Southern Miss Invitational with a time of 47.64 seconds. The Mississippi native ranks first in the region in the 400 meter race. The sophomore sprinter also aided the 4x100 squad to a fifth place finish at the invitational meet.
FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – Benjamin Adams, Belhaven
Graduate Student | Baton Rouge, La.
Adams produced a third place finish at the Southern Miss Invitational with a javelin throw of 53.39m. The Louisiana native is ranked third in the region for the javelin throw.
TRACK ROOKIE OF THE WEEK – Jonathan Bolanos, Berea
Freshman | Houston, Tx.
Bolanos blazed around the track twice with an impressive 2:00.47 in the 800m run. The Texas native is currently ranked first in the conference over the 800m distance.
FIELD ROOKIE OF THE WEEK – Ethan Butler-Paige, Piedmont
Freshman | Warner Robins, Ga.
Butler-Paige launched a throw of 37.80m in the hammer throw at the SWU GottaRun Invite. The Georgia native is currently ranked second in the conference in the hammer throw.

ABOUT THE COLLEGIATE CONFERENCE OF THE SOUTH
The CCS is an NCAA Division III athletic conference that began play during the 2022-23 academic year. The conference features nine member institutions (Agnes Scott College, Berea College, Belhaven University, Covenant College, Huntingdon College, LaGrange College, Maryville College, Piedmont University, and Wesleyan College) and sponsors championships across 14 sports. In addition to sharing the member institutions' geographic identity, the name 'Collegiate Conference of the South' is indicative of a shared commitment to academic excellence, which is commensurate with the NCAA Division III philosophy.
