Landry Frisch (Maryville) was named Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) Women’s Volleyball
Player of the Week, while
Katelyn Eldred (Maryville) earned
Defensive Player of the Week, released by the league office on Monday.
Isabelle VandeSchraaf (Asbury) was also tabbed
Rookie of the Week.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Landry Frisch, Maryville
Outside Hitter | Senior | Birmingham, AL
Landry Frisch delivered a dominant week for Maryville, posting a season-high 20 kills with an impressive .405 hitting percentage in a 3-1 win over Piedmont. Across the Scots' 2-1 record in CCS play, Frisch totaled 39 kills. She also registered a double-double with 13 kills and 11 digs in a victory against defending CCS defending champions, Covenant. Additionally, Frisch set a season high with 16 digs in a hard-fought 3-1 loss to Belhaven.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Katelyn Eldred, Maryville
Defensive Specialist/Libero | Freshman | Tallahassee, FL
First-year standout Katelyn Eldred was a defensive force for Maryville, averaging 5.4 digs per set and tallying 17 service aces across three matches. She recorded season highs of 27 digs and eight service aces in a tough 3-1 loss at Belhaven. Eldred followed up with 16 digs in a win over Covenant and 22 more in the Scots' triumph over Piedmont. Her sharp serving, with 17 aces and only seven service errors, played a crucial role in Maryville’s success this week.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK – Isabelle VandeSchraaf, Asbury
Outside Hitter | Freshman | Germantown Hills, IL
Freshman sensation Isabelle "Izzy" VandeSchraaf etched her name into the record books for Asbury, setting a new school record with 28 kills in a thrilling reverse sweep against No. 23-ranked Centre College. VandeSchraaf’s remarkable performance (49 kills, 29 digs, 4 service aces) helped the Eagles go a perfect 3-0 for the week, including two key CCS victories.

ABOUT THE COLLEGIATE CONFERENCE OF THE SOUTH (CCS)
The CCS is an NCAA Division III athletic conference that began play during the 2022-23 academic year. The conference features nine member institutions (Agnes Scott College, Asbury University, Belhaven University, Covenant College, Huntingdon College, LaGrange College, Maryville College, Piedmont University, and Wesleyan College) and sponsors championships across 14 sports. In addition to sharing the member institutions' geographic identity, the name 'Collegiate Conference of the South' is indicative of a shared commitment to academic excellence, which is commensurate with the NCAA Division III philosophy.
