Week 7: CCS Women’s Volleyball Players of the Week
ATLANTA, Ga. (October 13, 2025) – Kylie Wilhelmi (Maryville) was named Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) Women’s Volleyball Player of the Week, while Riley McChord (Asbury) earned Defensive Player of the Week, released by the league office on Monday.
 
Ruby Walton (Maryville) was also tabbed Rookie of the Week.
 

PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Kylie Wilhelmi, Maryville

Maryville senior outside hitter Kylie Wilhelmi delivered a dominant all-around performance to help the Scots rebound with three straight wins over Agnes Scott, LaGrange, and Asbury. Wilhelmi totaled 48 kills on the week, highlighted by a season-best .706 hitting percentage against Agnes Scott. She also added 30 digs, five service aces, and two blocks, finishing with 54.5 total points. On the week, Wilhelmi averaged 4.00 kills and 2.50 digs per set and is currently ranked first in kills in the CCS, averaging 4.32 kills per set.
 
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Riley McChord, Asbury

Asbury senior libero Riley McChord anchored the Eagles’ defense with 61 digs over 10 sets, averaging 6.1 per set. McChord tallied 27 digs against Maryville and followed with 21 more versus Huntingdon while also contributing nine assists and three service aces. She currently ranks second in the CCS in digs (averaging 4.85 per set), continuing to provide steady leadership in the Eagles’ back row.
 
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK – Ruby Walton, Maryville

Maryville freshman middle blocker Ruby Walton continued to shine in her debut season, helping the Scots to a perfect 3-0 week. Walton totaled 40 kills, seven digs, six service aces, and two blocks for 47 total points. She averaged 3.33 kills and 3.92 points per set last week and currently leads the conference in hitting percentage with an impressive .371 on the season.

ABOUT THE COLLEGIATE CONFERENCE OF THE SOUTH (CCS)

The CCS is an NCAA Division III athletic conference that began play during the 2022-23 academic year. The conference features nine member institutions (Agnes Scott College, Asbury University, Belhaven University, Covenant College, Huntingdon College, LaGrange College, Maryville College, Piedmont University, and Wesleyan College) and sponsors championships across 14 sports. In addition to sharing the member institutions' geographic identity, the name 'Collegiate Conference of the South' is indicative of a shared commitment to academic excellence, which is commensurate with the NCAA Division III philosophy.
