Week 7: CCS Men’s Soccer Players of the Week
ATLANTA, Ga. (October 14, 2025) – Connor DePriest (LaGrange) was named Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, while Peyton French (Asbury) earned Defensive Player of the Week, released by the league office on Tuesday.
 
Brian Burke (Covenant) was also tabbed Rookie of the Week.
 

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Connor DePriest, LaGrange
Forward  |  Sophomore  |  Newnan, Ga.
 
LaGrange sophomore forward Connor DePriest delivered a breakout week for the Panthers, scoring four goals across three matches. Coming off the bench, DePriest found the net in back-to-back conference draws against Piedmont and Maryville while adding two more goals in a 5-2 victory at Warren Wilson.
 
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Peyton French, Asbury

Asbury junior goalkeeper Peyton French stood tall between the posts, recording a clean sheet in the Eagles’ 0-0 draw with Belhaven. French made six saves in the match, including several key stops to preserve the shutout in a tightly contested conference battle.
 
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK – Brian Burke, Covenant

Covenant freshman forward Brian Burke made the most of his minutes, scoring the first goal of his collegiate career in a win over Huntingdon. Burke tallied one goal on one shot in 27 minutes of action, helping the Scots secure the conference victory.

ABOUT THE COLLEGIATE CONFERENCE OF THE SOUTH (CCS)

The CCS is an NCAA Division III athletic conference that began play during the 2022-23 academic year. The conference features nine member institutions (Agnes Scott College, Asbury University, Belhaven University, Covenant College, Huntingdon College, LaGrange College, Maryville College, Piedmont University, and Wesleyan College) and sponsors championships across 14 sports. In addition to sharing the member institutions' geographic identity, the name 'Collegiate Conference of the South' is indicative of a shared commitment to academic excellence, which is commensurate with the NCAA Division III philosophy.
