Week 6: CCS Men’s Golfers of the Week

ATLANTA, Ga. (October 22, 2025) - Drew Silman (Covenant) was named the Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) Golfer of the Week, while teammate, Carson Pruitt (Covenant) earned this week’s Men’s Golf Rookie of the Week, released by the league office on Wednesday.

Covenant junior Drew Silman turned in a standout performance at the Chick-fil-A Invitational, finishing third overall in a field of 98 golfers. Silman carded rounds of 70, 70, and 75 for a three-round total of 215 (-1), helping lead the Scots to a third-place team finish out of 19 programs competing at Stonebridge Golf Club.
 
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK – Carson Pruitt, Covenant

Freshman Carson Pruitt continued his strong debut season with a top five finish at the Chick-fil-A Invitational, tying for fourth in the 98-player field. Pruitt posted rounds of 72, 70, and 75 to finish at +1 (217) for the tournament, ranking as Covenant’s second-highest finisher behind teammate Drew Silman. His efforts helped the Scots secure a third-place team result out of 19 schools.

ABOUT THE COLLEGIATE CONFERENCE OF THE SOUTH (CCS)

The CCS is an NCAA Division III athletic conference that began play during the 2022-23 academic year. The conference features nine member institutions (Agnes Scott College, Asbury University, Belhaven University, Covenant College, Huntingdon College, LaGrange College, Maryville College, Piedmont University, and Wesleyan College) and sponsors championships across 14 sports. In addition to sharing the member institutions' geographic identity, the name 'Collegiate Conference of the South' is indicative of a shared commitment to academic excellence, which is commensurate with the NCAA Division III philosophy.
