ATLANTA, Ga. (March 10, 2025) – The Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) has announced its baseball weekly honors, released by the league office on Monday.
Colin Dunworth (Maryville) was named
Player of the Week, while
Parker Szush (Huntingdon) earned
Pitcher of the Week honors.
Austin Canale (Belhaven) was also tabbed
Rookie of the Week.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Colin Dunworth, Maryville

Dunworth played a key role in Maryville’s three road wins last week, delivering an impressive .579 batting average (11-for-19) across four games. He scored eight runs, drove in five RBI, and showcased his versatility with a home run, two doubles, and a triple. He also walked once and stole two bases. Dunworth currently leads the conference in runs scored (21), hits (26), and triples (4), while posting a team-best .441 batting average and a 1.239 OPS.
PITCHER OF THE WEEK – Parker Szush, Huntingdon

Szush delivered a dominant performance on the mound, throwing a complete-game shutout in Huntingdon’s 11-0 win over Millsaps. The junior right-hander allowed just one hit over seven innings while striking out 12 of the 28 batters he faced. His outing secured his first win of the season and helped the Hawks improve to 11-5.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK – Austin Canale, Belhaven

Canale was a key contributor in Belhaven’s series win over LeTourneau, going 7-for-11 at the plate. The freshman shortstop added a double, a triple, and six runs scored, continuing his strong start to the season.

ABOUT THE COLLEGIATE CONFERENCE OF THE SOUTH (CCS)
The CCS is an NCAA Division III athletic conference that began play during the 2022-23 academic year. The conference features nine member institutions (Agnes Scott College, Asbury University, Belhaven University, Covenant College, Huntingdon College, LaGrange College, Maryville College, Piedmont University, and Wesleyan College) and sponsors championships across 14 sports. In addition to sharing the member institutions' geographic identity, the name 'Collegiate Conference of the South' is indicative of a shared commitment to academic excellence, which is commensurate with the NCAA Division III philosophy.
