ATLANTA, Ga. (March 18, 2025) – The Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) has announced its women’s track and field weekly honors, released by the league office on Tuesday.
Evangelia Berry (Covenant) was named this week’s
Women’s Track Athlete of the Week, alongside
KK Thomas (Piedmont) who collected this week’s
Women’s Field Athlete of the Week honor.
Nariah Travis (Huntingdon) was also tabbed
Women’s Track Rookie of the Week and
Sara Bjerke (Piedmont) earned
Women’s Field Rookie of the Week.
TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – Evangelia Berry, Covenant
Sophomore | Morgantown, WV
Berry delivered a record-setting performance at the Myrtle Beach Spring Break Classic, finishing third in the collegiate division of the 10,000m with a school-record time of 39:19.22.
FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – KK Thomas, Piedmont
Graduate Student | Calhoun, Ga.
Thomas set a new personal best in the hammer throw at the Myrtle Beach Collegiate Challenge, placing seventh with a mark of 43.47 meters. She also competed in the shot put, finishing 35th with a throw of 9.32 meters.
TRACK ROOKIE OF THE WEEK – Nariah Travis, Huntingdon
Freshman | Navarre, Fla.
Travis impressed in her collegiate debut at the Montevallo Falcon Classic, finishing 20th in the 200m dash with a time of 27.34 and placing 13th in the 400m dash at 1:04.38.
FIELD ROOKIE OF THE WEEK – Sara Bjerke, Piedmont
Freshman | Rock Rapids, Iowa
Bjerke competed in both the high jump and long jump at the Myrtle Beach Collegiate Challenge. She cleared 1.40 meters in the high jump to place 13th in the Open B category (34th overall) and recorded a mark of 4.43 meters in the long jump.

ABOUT THE COLLEGIATE CONFERENCE OF THE SOUTH (CCS)
The CCS is an NCAA Division III athletic conference that began play during the 2022-23 academic year. The conference features nine member institutions (Agnes Scott College, Asbury University, Belhaven University, Covenant College, Huntingdon College, LaGrange College, Maryville College, Piedmont University, and Wesleyan College) and sponsors championships across 14 sports. In addition to sharing the member institutions' geographic identity, the name 'Collegiate Conference of the South' is indicative of a shared commitment to academic excellence, which is commensurate with the NCAA Division III philosophy.
