Week 3: CCS Women’s Track and Field Athletes of the Week
ATLANTA, Ga. (March 24, 2026) – The Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) has announced its women’s track and field weekly honors, released by the league office on Tuesday.
 
Kimona Haynes (Belhaven) was named this week’s Women’s Track Athlete of the Week, alongside teammate, Yasmyne McCann (Belhaven) who collected this week’s Women’s Field Athlete of the Weekhonor.
 
Sarah Vannoy (Covenant) was also tabbed Women’s Track Rookie of the Week and Mallory Golden (Belhaven) earned Women’s Field Rookie of the Week.
 

TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – Kimona Haynes, Belhaven
Senior  |  Jackson, Miss.
 
Kimona Haynes delivered a standout performance last weekend, sweeping both the 200m and 400m events at the Belhaven Invitational. The senior clocked personal-best times in each race, winning the 200m in 24.26 seconds against a field of 18 competitors and the 400m in 55.06 seconds among 21 runners.
 
FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – Yasmyne McCann, Belhaven
Sophomore  |  Gautier, Miss.
 
Yasmyne McCann turned in a personal-best performance in the long jump at the Belhaven Invitational. The sophomore recorded a mark of 5.13 meters to place fifth out of of 19 athletes, improving her previous season-best by 0.30 meters.
 
TRACK ROOKIE OF THE WEEK – Sarah Vannoy, Covenant
Freshman  |  Woodinville, Wash.
 
Sarah Vannoy continued to impress in her debut season, placing fourth in the 1500m at the Lee University Invitational. The freshman crossed the line in 4:48.62, finishing among the top competitors in a 54-runner field.
 
FIELD ROOKIE OF THE WEEK – Mallory Golden, Belhaven
Freshman  |  Waynesboro, Miss.
 
Mallory Golden matched her outdoor personal best in the high jump at the Belhaven Invitational, clearing 1.50 meters. The freshman finished tied for fifth in a field of nine competitors.

ABOUT THE COLLEGIATE CONFERENCE OF THE SOUTH (CCS)
The CCS is an NCAA Division III athletic conference that began play during the 2022-23 academic year. The conference features nine member institutions (Agnes Scott College, Asbury University, Belhaven University, Covenant College, Huntingdon College, LaGrange College, Maryville College, Piedmont University, and Wesleyan College) and sponsors championships across 14 sports. In addition to sharing the member institutions' geographic identity, the name 'Collegiate Conference of the South' is indicative of a shared commitment to academic excellence, which is commensurate with the NCAA Division III philosophy.
