ATLANTA, Ga. (March 17, 2026) – The Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) has announced its women’s track and field weekly honors, released by the league office on Tuesday.
Megan Shinn (Maryville) was named this week’s
Women’s Track Athlete of the Week, alongside
Abbey Cox (Maryville) who collected this week’s
Women’s Field Athlete of the Week honor.
Charlotte Wilson (Maryville) was also tabbed
Women’s Track Rookie of the Week and
Kaitlyn Snodgrass (Maryville) earned
Women’s Field Rookie of the Week.
TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – Megan Shinn, Maryville
Sophomore | Clarksville, Tenn.
Megan Shinn delivered a record-setting performance at the Cumberlands Early Spring Meet, breaking school records in both the 800m and 1500m events. She placed third in the 800m with a time of 2:30.96 and followed with a fourth-place finish in the 1500m at 5:02.76. Shinn’s 1500m mark currently ranks first in the conference.
FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – Abbey Cox, Maryville
Sophomore | Mosheim, Tenn.
Abbey Cox turned in a standout performance in the throws, leading the field at the Cumberlands Early Spring Meet. Cox captured first place in the hammer throw with a school-record mark of 45.64 meters, while also finishing second in the discus (35.55m) and fourth in the shot put (10.19m). Her marks in both the hammer and discus currently lead the conference.
TRACK ROOKIE OF THE WEEK – Charlotte Wilson, Maryville
Freshman | Savannah, Ga.
Charlotte Wilson made an immediate impact in her first collegiate outdoor meet, placing second in the 3,000m steeplechase with a time of 12:52.39 at the Cumberlands Early Spring Meet. Her performance set a new school record and currently stands as the top time in the conference this season.
FIELD ROOKIE OF THE WEEK – Kaitlyn Snodgrass, Maryville
Freshman | White Pine, Tenn.
Kaitlyn Snodgrass continued her strong debut season with a record-breaking performance in the jumps. She won the triple jump with a school-record mark of 10.75 meters and added a second-place finish in the long jump at 4.99 meters. Snodgrass currently ranks first in the conference in both events.

ABOUT THE COLLEGIATE CONFERENCE OF THE SOUTH (CCS)
The CCS is an NCAA Division III athletic conference that began play during the 2022-23 academic year. The conference features nine member institutions (Agnes Scott College, Asbury University, Belhaven University, Covenant College, Huntingdon College, LaGrange College, Maryville College, Piedmont University, and Wesleyan College) and sponsors championships across 14 sports. In addition to sharing the member institutions' geographic identity, the name 'Collegiate Conference of the South' is indicative of a shared commitment to academic excellence, which is commensurate with the NCAA Division III philosophy.
