Player of the Week, while
Artiom Anzhilov (Piedmont) earned this week’s Men’s Tennis
Rookie of the Week, released by the league office on Tuesday.

Men’s Doubles Team of the Week.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK – James Smith, Maryville
Junior | Brentwood, Tenn.
James Smith led Maryville to a strong 2-1 road trip through Virginia, delivering a pair of straight-set victories at No. 1 singles. He secured a 6-4, 6-2 win over Roanoke, helping the Scots earn a 4-3 team victory. Smith followed up with a 6-4, 6-4 win at Southern Virginia, though the Scots fell just short in a 4-3 team loss. He remains undefeated (3-0) in singles play this spring. Smith also partnered with Field Myatt for a 6-1 doubles win at Roanoke.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK – Artiom Anzhilov, Piedmont
Freshman | Miami, Fla.
Anzhilov continued his impressive freshman campaign with a 2-0 record in singles play and a doubles victory. He dominated at No. 6 singles with a 6-0, 6-2 win over Truett McConnell and followed up with a hard-fought 6-3, 7-5 win at No. 4 singles against Belhaven. He also teamed with Simon Johnstone for a 6-1 doubles victory over Belhaven at No. 3 doubles.
DOUBLES TEAM OF THE WEEK – Nic Bodin/Connor Golden, LaGrange
Junior/Sophomore | Atlanta, Ga.
The duo of Nic Bodin and Connor Golden went a perfect 3-0 in doubles play last week, helping LaGrange secure wins over MUW, Rust, and Buena Vista. They earned a 6-2 victory at No. 2 doubles against MUW and added key wins in the No. 3 doubles position against Rust and Buena Vista.

The CCS is an NCAA Division III athletic conference that began play during the 2022-23 academic year. The conference features nine member institutions (Agnes Scott College, Asbury University, Belhaven University, Covenant College, Huntingdon College, LaGrange College, Maryville College, Piedmont University, and Wesleyan College) and sponsors championships across 14 sports. In addition to sharing the member institutions' geographic identity, the name 'Collegiate Conference of the South' is indicative of a shared commitment to academic excellence, which is commensurate with the NCAA Division III philosophy.
