Week 10: CCS Women’s Basketball Players of the Week

ATLANTA, Ga. (January 19, 2026) – The Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) has announced its Women’s Basketball Players of the Week.
 
Amanda Mclendon (LaGrange) was named Player of the Week, while Anna Hellums (Asbury) earned Rookie of the Week, released by the league office on Monday.
 
PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Amanda Mclendon, LaGrange

Amanda Mclendon turned in a dominant week in conference play, leading LaGrange to a perfect 3–0 showing while anchoring the Panthers in the paint. The senior forward averaged 14.7 points and 10.0 rebounds per game, recording double-figure rebounds in two of the three contests. McLendon opened the week with 14 points and 13 rebounds in a road win at Huntingdon, then followed with an efficient performance at home against Wesleyan, scoring 13 points in just 13 minutes of action during a 91–63 victory. She capped the week with another strong outing at Agnes Scott, finishing with 17 points and 14 rebounds to help LaGrange pull away for an 83–65 win. For the week, Mclendon shot 51.3 percent from the field and currently ranks seventh in the CCS in scoring and second in rebounding.
 
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK– Anna Hellums, Asbury

Freshman guard Anna Hellums continued her strong play in conference action, helping Asbury secure wins over Maryville and Huntingdon. Hellums highlighted the week with a career-high 21-point performance against Maryville before adding nine points in just 19 minutes in a victory over Huntingdon, contributing to Asbury’s 6–1 start in CCS play. Across the two games, Hellums totaled 30 points while shooting 60 percent from the field and 45.4 percent from three-point range. She also added four rebounds, three blocks, and three steals, while committing just one turnover in 48 minutes of action.

ABOUT THE COLLEGIATE CONFERENCE OF THE SOUTH (CCS)
The CCS is an NCAA Division III athletic conference that began play during the 2022-23 academic year. The conference features nine member institutions (Agnes Scott College, Asbury University, Belhaven University, Covenant College, Huntingdon College, LaGrange College, Maryville College, Piedmont University, and Wesleyan College) and sponsors championships across 14 sports. In addition to sharing the member institutions' geographic identity, the name 'Collegiate Conference of the South' is indicative of a shared commitment to academic excellence, which is commensurate with the NCAA Division III philosophy.
