ATLANTA, Ga. (October 12, 2026) – Aubrianna Gerdes (Covenant) was named Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) Women’s Volleyball Player of the Week, while Henley Gentry (Covenant) earned Defensive Player of the Week, released by the league office on Monday.
 
Sara Beth Gray (Asbury) was selected as Setter of the Week, alongside Evy Hammer (Covenant) who was tabbed Rookie of the Week.
 
PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Aubrianna Gerdes, Covenant
Outside Hitter/Defensive Specialist  |  Sophomore  |  Windsor, Colo.
 
Gerdes led Covenant’s attack during a 3-0 week, totaling a team-high 38 kills while hitting .310 across three sweeps. She highlighted the stretch with a career-best .556 hitting percentage against LaGrange, finishing with 15 kills and no errors. Gerdes also added 31 digs and two service aces.
 
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Henley Gentry, Covenant
Defensive Specialist/Libero |  Sophomore  |  Arlington, Texas.
 
Gentry anchored Covenant’s back row across three victories, leading the Scots with 45 digs in sweeps of Maryville, LaGrange and Piedmont. She also contributed four service aces and five assists during the unbeaten week.
 
SETTER OF THE WEEK – Sara Beth Gray, Asbury
Setter  |  Junior  |  Lexington, Ky.
 
Gray directed Asbury’s offense with 44 assists across six sets, averaging 7.33 assists per set. Her work at setter helped the Eagles split their two matches on the week.
 
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK – Evy Hammer, Covenant
Setter  |  Freshman  |  Winter Park, Fla.
 
Hammer helped guide Covenant’s offense through a perfect 3-0 week, totaling 41 assists across sweeps of Maryville, LaGrange and Piedmont. She averaged 4.56 assists per set and added six digs.

ABOUT THE COLLEGIATE CONFERENCE OF THE SOUTH
The CCS is an NCAA Division III athletic conference that began play during the 2022-23 academic year. The conference features seven member institutions (Agnes Scott College, Asbury University, Belhaven University, Covenant College, Huntingdon College, LaGrange College, and Piedmont University) and sponsors championships across 16 sports. In addition to sharing the member institutions' geographic identity, the name 'Collegiate Conference of the South' is indicative of a shared commitment to academic excellence, which is commensurate with the NCAA Division III philosophy.
