ATLANTA, Ga. (April 7, 2026) – The Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) has announced its women’s track and field weekly honors, released by the league office on Tuesday.
Kimona Haynes (Belhaven) was named this week’s
Women’s Track Athlete of the Week, alongside
Allison Cantrell (Piedmont) who collected this week’s
Women’s Field Athlete of the Week honor.
A'mya Hill (LaGrange) was also tabbed
Women’s Track Rookie of the Week and
Amberly Bennett (Huntingdon) earned
Women’s Field Rookie of the Week.
TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – Kimona Haynes, Belhaven
Senior | Jackson, Miss.
Kimona Haynes delivered an outstanding multi-meet performance at both the Belhaven Midweek Open and the Southern Miss Invitational, competing in three sprint events. She claimed first-place finishes in both the 200m (25.32) and 400m (55.21) at the Belhaven Midweek Open before facing deeper competition at Southern Miss, placing sixth in the 100m (12.04) and third in the 200m (24.58). Haynes’ performances also placed her among the top times nationally in NCAA Division III, including a personal-best mark in the 100m. Her 200m time ranks seventh nationally, while her 400m mark sits fifth.
FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – Allison Cantrell, Piedmont
Junior | Canton, Ga.
Allison Cantrell turned in a strong showing at the Electric City Invitational, competing in both the javelin and long jump. The junior recorded a personal-best throw of 25.46 meters in the javelin, placing ninth in a field of 19, and added an eighth-place finish in the long jump with a season-best mark of 4.96 meters.
TRACK ROOKIE OF THE WEEK – A'mya Hill, LaGrange
Freshman | Fitzgerald, Ga.
A'mya Hill continued her impressive freshman campaign at the Embry-Riddle Running Elements meet, competing in both the 100m and 200m. Hill placed 12th out of 83 competitors in the 100m with a time of 12.11, a mark that ranks second in the CCS and sets a new LaGrange program record. She also finished 27th out of 84 in the 200m (25.58), which ranks third in the conference this season.
FIELD ROOKIE OF THE WEEK – Amberly Bennett, Huntingdon
Freshman | Falkville, Ala.
Amberly Bennett competed across four throwing events at the Doc Anderson Invitational and Multi. The freshman recorded marks of 9.56 meters in the shot put, 29.01 meters in the discus, 30.14 meters in the hammer throw, and 19.90 meters in the javelin. Bennett placed within the top 10 in each event.

ABOUT THE COLLEGIATE CONFERENCE OF THE SOUTH (CCS)
The CCS is an NCAA Division III athletic conference that began play during the 2022-23 academic year. The conference features nine member institutions (Agnes Scott College, Asbury University, Belhaven University, Covenant College, Huntingdon College, LaGrange College, Maryville College, Piedmont University, and Wesleyan College) and sponsors championships across 14 sports. In addition to sharing the member institutions' geographic identity, the name 'Collegiate Conference of the South' is indicative of a shared commitment to academic excellence, which is commensurate with the NCAA Division III philosophy.
