Week 7: CCS Women’s Track and Field Athletes of the Week

ATLANTA, Ga. (April 21, 2026) – The Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) has announced its women’s track and field weekly honors, released by the league office on Tuesday.
 
Evangelia Berry (Covenant) was named this week’s Women’s Track Athlete of the Week, alongside Josephine Swinburnson (Covenant) who collected this week’s Women’s Field Athlete of the Week honor.
 
Kaycie Hyde (Agnes Scott) was also tabbed Women’s Track Rookie of the Week.
 
TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – Evangelia Berry, Covenant
Junior  |  Morgantown, W.Va.
 
Evangelia Berry competed in the 1500m at the Mountain Laurel Open, finishing 11th in a field of 23 runners with a time of 5:34.23.
 
FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – Josephine Swinburnson, Covenant
Sophomore  |  Marysville, Wash.
 
Josephine Swinburnson recorded a top-five finish in the long jump at the Mountain Laurel Open on April 18, placing fifth out of nine competitors. The sophomore posted a mark of 4.48 meters (14’ 8.5”).
 
TRACK ROOKIE OF THE WEEK – Kaycie Hyde, Agnes Scott
Freshman  |  Land O’ Lakes, Fla.
 
Kaycie Hyde highlighted the week for Agnes Scott with a record-setting performance in the 100m at the Johnson C. Smith University meet. The freshman crossed the line in 13.71 seconds, setting a new program record, and followed with a personal-best time of 30.57 in the 200m.

ABOUT THE COLLEGIATE CONFERENCE OF THE SOUTH (CCS)
The CCS is an NCAA Division III athletic conference that began play during the 2022-23 academic year. The conference features nine member institutions (Agnes Scott College, Asbury University, Belhaven University, Covenant College, Huntingdon College, LaGrange College, Maryville College, Piedmont University, and Wesleyan College) and sponsors championships across 14 sports. In addition to sharing the member institutions' geographic identity, the name 'Collegiate Conference of the South' is indicative of a shared commitment to academic excellence, which is commensurate with the NCAA Division III philosophy.
