Sarah Vannoy (Covenant) was named Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) Women’s Cross Country
Runner of the Week, while
Evie Fikkert (Covenant) earned
Rookie of the Week, released by the league office on Monday.
RUNNER OF THE WEEK – Sarah Vannoy, Covenant
Sophomore | Woodinville, Wash.
Vannoy paced Covenant at the Southern Showcase, placing 11th overall in a field of 309 runners with a 5K time of 19:25. Her top 15 finish helped lead the Scots to a sixth-place team finish among 26 programs.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK – Evie Fikkert, Covenant
Freshman | Mount Vernon, Wash.
Fikkert turned in a strong showing at the Southern Showcase, finishing 49th overall among 309 competitors with a time of 20:56 in the 5K. Her performance contributed to Covenant’s sixth-place finish in the 26-team field.

ABOUT THE COLLEGIATE CONFERENCE OF THE SOUTH
The CCS is an NCAA Division III athletic conference that began play during the 2022-23 academic year. The conference features seven member institutions (Agnes Scott College, Asbury University, Belhaven University, Covenant College, Huntingdon College, LaGrange College, and Piedmont University) and sponsors championships across 16 sports. In addition to sharing the member institutions' geographic identity, the name 'Collegiate Conference of the South' is indicative of a shared commitment to academic excellence, which is commensurate with the NCAA Division III philosophy.
