ATLANTA, Ga. (October 15, 2024) – Mae Pierce (Covenant) was named Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, while Delaney Muldoon (Maryville) earned Defensive Player of the Week, released by the league office on Tuesday.
 
Eva De Sousa (Asbury) was also tabbed Rookie of the Week.
 

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Mae Pierce, Covenant

Mae Pierce had a record-tying performance for Covenant, scoring four goals and adding an assist in a dominant 9-0 victory over Wesleyan. Pierce’s four goals matched the school record for the most goals in a single match, contributing to an impressive offensive display for the Scots.
 
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Delaney Muldoon, Maryville

Delaney Muldoon led Maryville’s defense to back-to-back shutouts in a 2-0 week, as the Scots blanked Agnes Scott 8-0 and LaGrange 5-0. Muldoon also contributed offensively, assisting on a goal against LaGrange and recording five shot attempts, with three on target. Under her leadership, the Scots outshot their opponents 77-4 across the two matches.
 
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK – Eva De Sousa, Asbury

Freshman Eva De Sousa scored her first collegiate goal in a critical moment for Asbury, equalizing the match in a 2-2 tie against Huntingdon. Her goal helped secure a 1-0-1 week in CCS play for the Eagles.
