ATLANTA, Ga. (January 27, 2025) – The Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) has announced its Women’s Basketball Players of the Week.
Alexandria Willis (Piedmont) was named
Player of the Week, while
Emily Sizemore (Asbury) earned
Rookie of the Week, released by the league office on Monday.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Alexandria Willis, Piedmont
Forward | Sophomore | Dallas, Ga.
Sophomore forward Alexandria Willis powered Piedmont to a 2-1 record this past week, totaling 48 points and 24 rebounds over three games while shooting an impressive 69% (18-of-26) from the field. Willis posted a season-high 18 points and six rebounds on 7-of-9 shooting in a win over Covenant. She followed with 15 points and seven rebounds in a road win at Maryville and closed the week with 15 points and a season-high 11 rebounds in a hard-fought game at Asbury.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK– Emily Sizemore, Asbury
Guard | Sophomore | London, Ky.
Emily Sizemore continued her stellar debut season, leading Asbury to two more CCS wins and extending the Eagles’ winning streak to five games. The first-year guard averaged 13.0 points and 2.5 assists per game while orchestrating the offense from the point guard position. Sizemore’s week was highlighted by an 18-point performance in a win over Belhaven, shooting 7-of-15 from the field. Her leadership and efficiency have been pivotal to Asbury’s strong 5-1 start in league play.

ABOUT THE COLLEGIATE CONFERENCE OF THE SOUTH (CCS)
The CCS is an NCAA Division III athletic conference that began play during the 2022-23 academic year. The conference features nine member institutions (Agnes Scott College, Asbury University, Belhaven University, Covenant College, Huntingdon College, LaGrange College, Maryville College, Piedmont University, and Wesleyan College) and sponsors championships across 14 sports. In addition to sharing the member institutions' geographic identity, the name 'Collegiate Conference of the South' is indicative of a shared commitment to academic excellence, which is commensurate with the NCAA Division III philosophy.
