ATLANTA, Ga. (January 12, 2025) – The Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) has announced its Men’s Basketball Players of the Week.
CJ Minton (Belhaven) was named
Player of the Week, while teammate,
Braylon Dame (Belhaven) earned
Rookie of the Week, released by the league office on Monday.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK – CJ Minton, Belhaven
Guard | Junior | Indianola, Miss.
CJ Minton played a key role in Belhaven’s pair of conference victories, delivering consistent scoring and efficiency from the perimeter. The junior guard averaged 16.5 points and 5.0 rebounds across the two-game stretch, helping anchor the Blazers in both contests. Minton turned in his top performance of the week in Belhaven’s win over LaGrange, finishing with 21 points and seven rebounds. He was particularly effective from long range, shooting 9-of-17 (.529) from three-point distance across the two wins.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK– Braylon Dame, Belhaven
Guard | Freshman | Moulton, Ala.
Freshman guard Braylon Dame contributed steady scoring off the bench to help Belhaven post an undefeated week in conference play. Dame averaged 11.0 points per game across two contests, providing a spark in the Blazers’ backcourt. Dame highlighted his week with a 14-point performance in Belhaven’s win over Asbury. He finished the week with 22 points, three rebounds, three assists, and one steal.

ABOUT THE COLLEGIATE CONFERENCE OF THE SOUTH (CCS)
The CCS is an NCAA Division III athletic conference that began play during the 2022-23 academic year. The conference features nine member institutions (Agnes Scott College, Asbury University, Belhaven University, Covenant College, Huntingdon College, LaGrange College, Maryville College, Piedmont University, and Wesleyan College) and sponsors championships across 14 sports. In addition to sharing the member institutions' geographic identity, the name 'Collegiate Conference of the South' is indicative of a shared commitment to academic excellence, which is commensurate with the NCAA Division III philosophy.
