PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Ben Onufrock, Covenant
Senior | Woodstock, Ga.
Ben Onufrock delivered a strong week at the top of Covenant’s lineup, earning multiple key singles victories against top competition. Competing at the No. 1 singles position, the senior posted wins over Oglethorpe’s Simmons (6–4, 6–1), Emory’s Kamenev in a tightly contested three-set match (7–6, 6–7, 10–8), and Berry’s Chapman (6–3, 6–3). In doubles play, Onufrock teamed with Caleb Domkowski at the No. 1 position, securing a 6–3 victory over Emory while competing against strong pairings throughout the week.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK – Lincoln Shine, Covenant
Freshman | Knoxville, Tenn.
Freshman Lincoln Shine competed in all three matches at the No. 5 singles position. Shine battled in each contest, including a three-set effort against Berry’s Deckard. In doubles play, Shine partnered with Gavin Patton at the No. 2 spot to secure a 6–3 victory over Oglethorpe’s Hymel and Searle.
DOUBLES TEAM OF THE WEEK – Mark Backeberg/Leyton Dunn, Piedmont
Junior/Sophomore | Cape Town, South Africa / Newnan, Ga.
Mark Backeberg and Leyton Dunn delivered a strong performance at the No. 1 doubles position, earning a 6–3 victory over Huntingdon’s Young and Massey. Their win helped set the tone for Piedmont in a 7–0 conference victory. The duo contributed to a perfect 2–0 week for the Lions, which included a 6–1 win at Truett McConnell and a 7–0 win at Huntingdon.

ABOUT THE COLLEGIATE CONFERENCE OF THE SOUTH (CCS)
The CCS is an NCAA Division III athletic conference that began play during the 2022-23 academic year. The conference features nine member institutions (Agnes Scott College, Asbury University, Belhaven University, Covenant College, Huntingdon College, LaGrange College, Maryville College, Piedmont University, and Wesleyan College) and sponsors championships across 14 sports. In addition to sharing the member institutions' geographic identity, the name 'Collegiate Conference of the South' is indicative of a shared commitment to academic excellence, which is commensurate with the NCAA Division III philosophy.
