Week 6: CCS Men’s Track and Field Athletes of the Week

ATLANTA, Ga. (April 14, 2026) – The Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) has announced its men’s track and field weekly honors, released by the league office on Tuesday.
 
Rory Gilroy (Huntingdon) was named this week’s Men’s Track Athlete of the Week, alongside Neal Terry (Belhaven) who collected this week’s Men’s Field Athlete of the Week honor.
 
Kenneth Mills (Belhaven) was also tabbed Men’s Track Rookie of the Week and Sky Pleasant (Maryville) earned Men’s Field Rookie of the Week.
 
TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – Rory Gilroy, Huntingdon

Rory Gilroy delivered a high-impact performance across four events at the Berry Field Day Invitational, contributing 29 total points between individual and relay competition. He captured first place in the 110m hurdles (14.81) and added a runner-up finish in the 400m hurdles (53.80), breaking his own program record in the event. Gilroy also competed in both relays, helping the 4x100 team to a third-place finish (43.05) and the 4x400 to fourth (3:28.82), with the 4x100 group setting a new school record. His 400m hurdles time currently ranks 17th nationally, and he leads the CCS in both hurdle events this season.
 
FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – Neal Terry, Belhaven

Neal Terry delivered a record-setting performance at the Rhodes 7-Way Meet, sweeping both jumping events. The senior won the long jump with a mark of 7.31 meters, setting a new program record and tying for the fifth-best jump in NCAA Division III this season. He also collected another first-place finish in the triple jump at 14.47 meters.
 
TRACK ROOKIE OF THE WEEK – Kenneth Mills, Belhaven

Kenneth Mills continued his strong sprint form at the Rhodes 7-Way Meet, capturing first place in the 100m with a time of 11.03. The win marks his second consecutive victory in the event. Mills also ran on the winning 4x100 relay team, which posted a time of 42.32.
 
FIELD ROOKIE OF THE WEEK – Sky Pleasant, Maryville
Freshman  |  McMinnville, Tenn.
 
Sky Pleasant turned in a dominant showing in the throwing events at the Scots Invitational, winning both the shot put and discus. The freshman recorded a mark of 14.37 meters in the shot put and followed with a 45.35-meter throw in the discus, which set a new school record. Pleasant also competed in the hammer throw, placing sixth with a mark of 37.75 meters. His shot put and discus marks currently lead the conference this season.

ABOUT THE COLLEGIATE CONFERENCE OF THE SOUTH (CCS)
The CCS is an NCAA Division III athletic conference that began play during the 2022-23 academic year. The conference features nine member institutions (Agnes Scott College, Asbury University, Belhaven University, Covenant College, Huntingdon College, LaGrange College, Maryville College, Piedmont University, and Wesleyan College) and sponsors championships across 14 sports. In addition to sharing the member institutions' geographic identity, the name 'Collegiate Conference of the South' is indicative of a shared commitment to academic excellence, which is commensurate with the NCAA Division III philosophy.
