ATLANTA, Ga. (April 6, 2026) – The Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) has announced its baseball weekly honors, released by the league office on Monday.
 
Irvin Hernandez (Maryville) was named Player of the Week, while Cole Burton (Belhaven) earned Pitcher of the Week honors.
 
Masin Hall (Maryville) was also tabbed Rookie of the Week.
 

PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Irvin Hernandez, Maryville

Hernandez powered Covenant to a perfect 4-0 week, playing a key role in a conference sweep of Huntingdon and a midweek win over Sewanee. The standout performer batted .538 (7-for-13), scoring six runs while driving in six more. Hernandez added a triple and drew two walks for a .600 on-base percentage, while also going a perfect 2-for-2 on stolen base attempts. Defensively, Hernandez also recorded a perfect fielding percentage to finish the week.
 
PITCHER OF THE WEEK – Cole Burton, Belhaven

Cole Burton delivered a dominant start on the mound against Covenant, tossing 7.2 innings while allowing just two runs on four hits. The senior struck out a career-high 10 batters and limited opposing hitters to a .148 average, earning the win in Belhaven’s 3-1 week.
 
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK – Masin Hall, Maryville

Masin Hall continued his strong freshman campaign, leading Maryville to a 4-0 week with a standout offensive performance. Hall batted .529 (9-for-17), scoring nine runs while adding three RBI, two doubles, and three stolen bases.

ABOUT THE COLLEGIATE CONFERENCE OF THE SOUTH (CCS)
The CCS is an NCAA Division III athletic conference that began play during the 2022-23 academic year. The conference features nine member institutions (Agnes Scott College, Asbury University, Belhaven University, Covenant College, Huntingdon College, LaGrange College, Maryville College, Piedmont University, and Wesleyan College) and sponsors championships across 14 sports.
