ATLANTA, Ga. (April 16, 2024) – The Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) has announced its men’s track and field weekly honors, released by the league office on Tuesday.
Clarence McLean (Maryville) was named this week’s Men’s Track Athlete of the Week, alongside Neal Terry (Belhaven) who collected this week’s Men’s Field Athlete of the Week honor.
Justice Moore (Belhaven) was also tabbed Track Rookie of the Week and Alex Reed (Belhaven) earned Field Rookie of the Week.
TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – Clarence McLean, Maryville
Sophomore | Nashville, Tenn.
McLean defended Scot soil by claiming two first place victories at the Maryville Scots Invitational. The Tennessee native covered the 100m distance with a time of 10.46 seconds and the 200m distance with a time of 21.44 seconds. The sophomore sprinter ranks second in the region in the 200m dash.
FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – Neal Terry, Belhaven
Sophomore | Olive Branch, Miss.
Terry highlighted the Blazer performances in the field events with a first place victory in the high jump at the Rhodes 7-Way Invitational (1.90m). The Mississippi native also claimed a fourth place finish in the long jump (6.70m), sixth place finish in the triple jump (12.58m), and eighth place finish in the pole vault (3.97m). The sophomore athlete is tied for sixth place in the region for high jump.
TRACK ROOKIE OF THE WEEK – Justice Moore, Belhaven
Freshman | Pearl, Miss.
Moore secured a fourth place finish at the Rhodes 7-Way Invitational in the 100m dash with a time of 10.82 seconds. The Mississippi native anchored the 4x100m relay to a second place finish at the invitational meet.
FIELD ROOKIE OF THE WEEK – Alex Reed, Belhaven
Freshman | Jackson, Miss.
Reed earned a trio of top 10 finishes at the Rhodes 7-Way Invitational meet. The Mississippi native took fourth place in high jump (1.60m), fifth in the triple jump (12.71m), and sixth in the long jump (6.41m).

ABOUT THE COLLEGIATE CONFERENCE OF THE SOUTH
The CCS is an NCAA Division III athletic conference that began play during the 2022-23 academic year. The conference features nine member institutions (Agnes Scott College, Berea College, Belhaven University, Covenant College, Huntingdon College, LaGrange College, Maryville College, Piedmont University, and Wesleyan College) and sponsors championships across 14 sports. In addition to sharing the member institutions' geographic identity, the name 'Collegiate Conference of the South' is indicative of a shared commitment to academic excellence, which is commensurate with the NCAA Division III philosophy.
