ATLANTA, Ga. (January 27, 2025) – The Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) has announced its Men’s Basketball Players of the Week.
Jordan Marshall (Belhaven) was named
Player of the Week, while
Kyle Cloninger (Maryville) earned
Rookie of the Week, released by the league office on Monday.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Jordan Marshall, Belhaven
Guard | Senior | Raymond, Miss.
Jordan Marshall had an impressive week, averaging 25.0 points and 6.5 assists per game to lead Belhaven to a 2-0 weekend. In a win at Asbury, Marshall contributed 15 points, six rebounds, seven assists, and a steal. He followed up with a dominant 35-point, six-assist performance to guide the Blazers to a victory at Maryville.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK– Kyle Cloninger, Maryville
Guard | Freshman | Morristown, Tenn.
Freshman guard Kyle Cloninger continued his standout debut season, averaging 12.0 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 3.0 assists across two games. Cloninger scored a season-high 18 points in a key win over Piedmont and finished the week shooting an efficient 56% (9-of-16) from the field, including 50% (6-of-12) from three-point range. He also contributed three steals and recorded six assists without a single turnover. Cloninger now boasts 45 assists against just eight turnovers this season.

ABOUT THE COLLEGIATE CONFERENCE OF THE SOUTH (CCS)
The CCS is an NCAA Division III athletic conference that began play during the 2022-23 academic year. The conference features nine member institutions (Agnes Scott College, Asbury University, Belhaven University, Covenant College, Huntingdon College, LaGrange College, Maryville College, Piedmont University, and Wesleyan College) and sponsors championships across 14 sports. In addition to sharing the member institutions' geographic identity, the name 'Collegiate Conference of the South' is indicative of a shared commitment to academic excellence, which is commensurate with the NCAA Division III philosophy.
