ATLANTA, Ga. (February 3, 2025) – The Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) has announced its Women’s Basketball Players of the Week.
Ebony Gayden (Belhaven) was named
Player of the Week, while
Emily Sizemore (Asbury) earned
Rookie of the Week, released by the league office on Monday.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Ebony Gayden, Belhaven

Ebony Gayden delivered back-to-back double-doubles to lead Belhaven to a perfect 2-0 week in conference play. She averaged 17.0 points and 11.0 rebounds per game while shooting 43% (12-of-28) from the field and 83% (10-of-12) from the free-throw line. Gayden opened the week with 13 points and 10 rebounds in just 20 minutes against LaGrange before capping it off with a dominant 21-point, 12-rebound performance against Piedmont. The graduate student also contributed three assists and a steal.

Emily Sizemore continued her outstanding play, helping Asbury secure two more CCS wins to improve to 7-1 in conference play and claim sole possession of first place. She was nearly perfect in Friday’s victory over Agnes Scott, scoring 19 points on 8-of-9 shooting while also collecting three steals.

ABOUT THE COLLEGIATE CONFERENCE OF THE SOUTH (CCS)
The CCS is an NCAA Division III athletic conference that began play during the 2022-23 academic year. The conference features nine member institutions (Agnes Scott College, Asbury University, Belhaven University, Covenant College, Huntingdon College, LaGrange College, Maryville College, Piedmont University, and Wesleyan College) and sponsors championships across 14 sports. In addition to sharing the member institutions' geographic identity, the name 'Collegiate Conference of the South' is indicative of a shared commitment to academic excellence, which is commensurate with the NCAA Division III philosophy.
