Week 6: CCS Softball Players of the Week
ATLANTA, Ga. (March 16, 2026) – The Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) has announced its softball weekly honors, released by the league office on Monday.
 
Abigail Moffat (Asbury) was named Player of the Week, while Elizabeth Yother (Covenant) earned Pitcher of the Week honors.
 
Julie Mavity (Covenant) was also tabbed Rookie of the Week.
 
PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Abigail Moffat, Asbury

Abigail Moffat powered the Asbury offense in a doubleheader sweep of Sewanee, delivering an explosive performance at the plate. The junior shortstop collected five hits in eight at-bats (.625), including a home run, three doubles, and a triple while driving in 10 runs and scoring three times.
Moffat posted a 1.375 slugging percentage and a .667 on-base percentage for the day while also contributing defensively with a perfect fielding percentage.
 
PITCHER OF THE WEEK – Elizabeth Yother, Covenant

Elizabeth Yother turned in a dominant week in the circle, helping Covenant remain unbeaten with a 3–3 team record. The freshman pitcher went 2–0 while tossing 16 innings, allowing just nine hits and two unearned runs. Yother struck out 25 batters during the stretch and finished the week with a 0.00 ERA
 
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK – Julie Mavity, Covenant

Julie Mavity delivered a strong all-around performance for Covenant, contributing both at the plate and in the field. The freshman infielder went 5-for-14 (.357), driving in six runs and scoring four times during the week. Defensively, Mavity was equally reliable, recording six putouts and one assist without an error for a perfect fielding percentage. She also contributed in the circle, earning a win in a four-inning appearance while striking out six and limiting opponents to a .154 batting average.

ABOUT THE COLLEGIATE CONFERENCE OF THE SOUTH (CCS)
The CCS is an NCAA Division III athletic conference that began play during the 2022-23 academic year. The conference features nine member institutions (Agnes Scott College, Asbury University, Belhaven University, Covenant College, Huntingdon College, LaGrange College, Maryville College, Piedmont University, and Wesleyan College) and sponsors championships across 14 sports. In addition to sharing the member institutions' geographic identity, the name 'Collegiate Conference of the South' is indicative of a shared commitment to academic excellence, which is commensurate with the NCAA Division III philosophy.
