Player of the Week, while
Lincoln Shine (Covenant) was Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) Men’s Tennis
Rookie of the Week.
The duo of

Steven Fitzsimmons (Maryville) was named Men’s
Doubles Team of the Week.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Rohan Kavali, Piedmont

Rohan Kavali delivered a clutch performance across singles and doubles play, helping lead Piedmont to a 3-0 week that included two narrow 4-3 victories. Kavali went a perfect 3-0 in singles, competing at both the No. 2 and No. 4 positions, and was instrumental in each of the Lions’ tight wins. He secured the match-clinching point in both victories over Berry and Covenant, rallying from a set down in each contest. Against Berry, Kavali won a decisive third-set tiebreak, and he followed with another comeback effort against Covenant, taking the final two sets to seal the win. In doubles, Kavali teamed with Horacio Rodriguez to post a 2-1 record at the No. 3 position, earning convincing wins of 6-1 and 6-0 against Berry and Belhaven, respectively.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK – Lincoln Shine, Covenant

Lincoln Shine made his mark in doubles play for Covenant, going 2-0 at the No. 3 position during the week. The freshman paired with Gavin Patton to secure 6-3 victories against both Rafferty and Keana of Kalamazoo and Kavali and Rodriguez of Piedmont.
DOUBLES TEAM OF THE WEEK – James Smith/Steven Fitzsimmons, Maryville

James Smith and Steven Fitzsimmons led the way at the top of the lineup, going 2-0 at the No. 1 doubles position as Maryville posted a 2-0 team record. The duo earned a hard-fought 7-6 (7-4) victory over Southern Virginia before adding a 6-3 win against LaGrange. Their strong play helped set the tone in both matches, as the Scots secured dominant 7-0 team victories in each contest.

ABOUT THE COLLEGIATE CONFERENCE OF THE SOUTH (CCS)
The CCS is an NCAA Division III athletic conference that began play during the 2022-23 academic year. The conference features nine member institutions (Agnes Scott College, Asbury University, Belhaven University, Covenant College, Huntingdon College, LaGrange College, Maryville College, Piedmont University, and Wesleyan College) and sponsors championships across 14 sports. In addition to sharing the member institutions' geographic identity, the name 'Collegiate Conference of the South' is indicative of a shared commitment to academic excellence, which is commensurate with the NCAA Division III philosophy.
